Links that need a decision from you

We followed every link on all 370 pages of the new site — just over 19,000 of them. Almost all are fine. These 29 are the ones we cannot decide for you, across 23 articles.

Download the spreadsheet

One row per link. Click the article name to open it on your current site and see the link in context, then pick an answer from the dropdown. If you are replacing a link, paste the new address in the last column.

Every one of these is on your current site too. None of them were introduced by the rebuild — we checked each one against hrgurus.com.au and found the same link there today, pointing at the same place. So nothing here is urgent. It is a tidy-up that has been waiting a while.

The Christmas party article is not in here. That one has ten broken photographs and four stale venue recommendations, and we have asked you about it separately — whether to refresh it, keep it as it is, or retire it. Whichever way that goes takes care of its links at the same time.

What you are being asked

Three kinds of thing, and they need different answers.

Your own links 10

Forms, downloads and webinar sign-ups on your own Ontraport, ClickFunnels and Zoho accounts. Signed out, we get an error on most of these — but you may well see them fine when you are logged in, so we have not assumed they are gone. We need to know which still exist, and where they live now.

Dead links out 12

Links to other people’s websites that no longer work at all. Mostly government pages that have been reorganised — Fair Work, WorkSafe, Service Victoria — plus a few businesses that have closed.

Now goes somewhere generic 7

These still open, so no link checker will ever flag them, but they no longer land on the thing the article is citing. Fair Work’s COVID site now redirects to a general page; a law firm’s budget briefing has become their index of articles. To a reader following a citation, they read as broken.

Sending it back

Save the spreadsheet and email it back, or just tell us the answers however suits — we only need the last two columns. Once we have them we will make every change in one pass and confirm each one back to you.
